| The closure of the Buckmore Park Scout centre and the subsequent condition of this site today is a sad affair. Constructed in 1996 with public money, the complex was built on land used by the Scouting Association for over 50 years. It boasted a huge range of facilities to be used by the Scouts and Public alike. In 2003 the complex went into administration and closed, many rumours circulate regarding the reason for this, ranging from mismanagement to access rights. Today the complex is in a sorry state, vandalism on a huge scale has occurred and without immediate intervention, this building will reach a point of no return. |
